 The AFA Secretariate and IAI welcome a visit from representative of LCPAA and Ministry of Finance Lao PDRThe AFA Secretariate welcomed a visit from representatives of LCPAA Khampiew Thipphavongphanh (Vice President of LCPAA) and Khamsamai Boulom (Officer, Accounting Regulatory Department, Ministry of Finance Lao PDR. The visit was arranged as part of the delegate's attendance at the ASEAN CPA Coordinating Committee meeting organized in Bandung, Indonesia on February 26, 2024. The meeting participants discussed support to LCPAA capacity building aspirations and ongoing mentoring project with AFA.
The courtesy call was organised to welcome LCPAA to the Secretariat, further discuss AFA support to LCPAA particularly on the mentoring arrangement pilot project and facilitate LCPAA’s engagement with IAI as the permanent Secretariat of the Federation in Jakarta. It coincides with LCPAA’s participation at the ASEAN CPA Coordinating Committee meeting organised in Bandung, Indonesia on 26 February 2024.
In addition to ED Pratama and Monika from the Secretariat, the LCPAA representatives also met Council Members of IAI Dr. Selvia Vivi Devianti – who is also the Deputy Chair of AFA Working Committee 2 and Deny Poerhadiyanto, as well as Elly Zarni Husin (Executive Director, IAI) and Edward Tanujaya (Director, IAI). The representatives discussed possible collaboration between the two PAOs as well as AFA, including but not limited to capacity building of accountants in Lao PDR and opportunities for Lao PDR accounting students to participate in IAI’s Aspiring Professional Accountants Festival. LCPAA is an AFA Primary Member and an IFAC Associate with aspiration to elevate its membership status to a full Member. Please read more detail in the file attached:
