Partnership with professional bodies

LCPAA has various Partnership Agreements with professional accountancy bodies to support LCPAA’s objective to develop a local Lao language qualification and build capacity within the institution

Institute of Certified Management Accountants Australia (ICMA)

ICMA and LCPAA signed a MoU on the 30 November 2018 for period of five years to strengthen cooperation between the two sides in professional development and professional community in Laos.

Singapore university of Social Sciences (SUSS)

SUSS and LCPAA signed a MoU on the 03 Jul 2018 to:

• Work towards developing SUSS students' professional skills as required of Charted Accountant by placing these students on work attachments with LCPAA.
• Collaborate on visits by and exchange of staff and/or undergraduate and post-graduate students, development and conduct of workshops on accounting and finance topics of mutual interest and other joint initiatives from time to time.

Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA)

MIA and LCPAA signed a MoU on the 08 December 2017 for period of two years to:

• Implementation of International Financial Reporting Standards in financial services sectors as continuation of the work that MIA is currently doing with the World Bank in Laos
• To facilitate employee secondment and exchange particularly in respect of professional development including organising seminars and conferences
• To assist in associated activities to support any promotion based on this cooperation

National University of Laos (NUoL)

NUOL and LCPAA signed a MoU on the 27 March 2017 to cooperate on training and seminars

Sripatum University (SPU)

SPU and LCPAA signed a MoU on the 27 March 2017 for the period of two years to explore capability building opportunities to help develop the accountancy profession in Lao PDR in the areas such as:

• Training of accounting technicians
• Training of International Financial Reporting Standards for Small and Medium Enterprise ("IFRS for SMEs")
  
• International Financial Reporting Standards ("IFRS")
  
• Continuous Professional Development (CPD); and
  
• Exchanging expertise, experiences and best practices

CPA Australia

LCPAA has signed a cooperation agreement with CPA Australia on the 6 December 2016 for the period of three years in the area of promoting common development of accounting and auditing profession in Laos and to improve the practice quality and benefits for members of the two organizations. CPA Australia renewed its Cooperation Agreement with the Laos Chamber of Professional Accountants and Auditors (LCPAA) at a signing ceremony held in Vientiane on 1 October 2019.

Institute of Singapore Chartered

​Accountants (ISACA)

​LCPAA and ISCA have signed a MoU on the 24th October 2016 for the period of two years to assist LCPAA to explore capability building opportunities to help develop the accountancy profession in Lao PDR. In addition, a program of 5-days training on accounting principles for Lao accountants was conducted.

Ministry of Finance (MoF)

​LCPAA and the Accounting Department had jointly organized a workshop on the 25th August 2016, to introduce and get feedback from all practicing accountants and other stakeholders, on the Draft Code of Ethics that would be issued by the MoF this year.

​Federation of Accounting Profession of

​Thailand (FAP)

​FAP and LCPAA signed a MoU on the 20 February 2016 for the period of 12 months. According to this MOU, LCPAA and FAP co-organized a Training of Trainer (ToT) on IFRS and now are preparing a ToT program on International Standard of Auditing (ISA) for Lao auditors, which would be held in November-December 2016.

The Association of Chartered Certified

​Accountants (ACCA)

​ACCA and LCPAA signed a MoU on the 19 February 2016 for period of five years to support LCPAA’s objective to:

• Develop and deliver a robust, Lao language, IFAC compliant professional qualification,  and
• Build capacity within the LCPAA
• Assist LCPAA to develop and deliver a robust Lao professional qualification by providing LCPAA with the ACCA syllabus.

World Bank (WB)

​LCPAA is working with World Bank (WB) in order to realize some supporting programs to assist LCPAA capacity building and other professional training program which will take place in the near future

ASEAN Federation of Accountants

LCPAA is actively participating at ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA) council meetings. In addition, the President and the Vice President of LCPAA as the current President of AFA, on behalf of AFA, contribute as speakers in various regional conferences organized by AFA members.
